orbit chandelier

have you ever seen a chandelier more swoon worthy? i adore the whimsical and unexpected woven shape, and the exposed bulbs (a personal favorite). using a tension/compression design based on the same principal as suspension bridge – i’m certain that illuminating a space has never been more interesting.

let there be light

A while back I wrote a post lamenting over the loss of my old bedside floor lamp. After months and months of searching I finally found the perfect one!
This is what it looks like (in a gorgeous dining room that I wish was my own…):

Check back for an update with a photo of my bedroom!
Bed: Hastens
Linens: Dwell Studio
Rug: cow hide straight from a farm in Wyoming
Frame above bed: Vintage Hermes scarf

wish list

I absolutely adore the floor lamp I have in my bedroom next to  my bed. I purchased it right when I moved to New York, so it’s been with me for nearly 7 years. Unfortunately, for the past two years its been broken, but I just haven’t been able to let it go or find anything that I actually liked as a replacement. Last night it completely stopped working, so it’s time to speed up the search. I’ve got my eye on the Rowan Pharmacy Task Lamp from Restoration Hardware as a potential candidate… Thoughts?

kitschy lighting

moose head lightI like this take on the traditional wall mounted moose head, not only because no animals have been harmed, but because the materials used in construction make this light fit for indoor and outdoor use. Designed by Trond Svendgard & Ove Rogne
